Our Work
Additional InterINDigital produced programs include the following:
‘Circle of Champions’ (English and Cree versions) produced for APTN, Bravo! and SCN. This 48-minute music and dance program focuses on the artistic dance movements and styles of world class native dancers and drum groups. We use various moving images found on and around our world to demonstrate some of the history and meaning behind each mesmerizing performance. Narrated by well respected, Elder William Commanda, Keeper of Wampum Belt.
‘Burning Answers’, a fire prevention manual and video (English and French versions) aimed at Aboriginal housing managers and community members, was produced for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) for national distribution. Research and interviews were conducted across Canada with various Aboriginal Housing Mangers and Aboriginal firefighters at national, provincial and community organizations to develop case studies for the manual and dramatizations for the DVD.
‘Journey to the Prinzapolka’ – This 48-minute documentary depicts how the Meadow Lake Tribal Council (MLTC) in Saskatchewan is sharing their knowledge on economic and social development with the Miskito Nation in Nicaragua, the poorest of the poor in Central America. This story is one of hope and of inspiration. Having overcome some of the same obstacles that the Miskito nations now face, the MLTC is trying to pass the lessons it has learned on to the Miskito people and help bring them economically and socially into the 21st century. This documentary produced both in English and in Cree, airs on APTN and SCN.
InterINDigital produced a 20-minute recruitment video for the National Aboriginal Forestry Association (NAFA) which encourages high school students to pursue career opportunities in the forestry sector. This project was targeted to a national Aboriginal audience and incorporated both sound scientific practice and traditional knowledge. Research and interviews were conducted across Canada with Aboriginal forestry stakeholders particularly in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and in the Atlantic Provinces. Inuit people were also incorporated in the scope by our interviewing the only Inuit Certified Forester in Canada. This approximately 20-minute video production is used as both an awareness educational tool for corporate, academic institutions and Aboriginal community members across Canada.
